Tamiko Winn
I'm a journeywoman electrician with over 20 years of experience, dedicated to supporting women in construction. Since 2009, I have been an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Career & Technical Education Instructor, empowering students in the field. As a National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Instructor for over 15 years, I have been committed to sharing my expertise.
Being an OSHA Authorized Trainer since 2019, I prioritize safety in the industry. I hold a degree in Electrical Technology and actively contribute as a member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). Throughout my career, I have served in various roles, including Instructor, Construction Manager, Program Manager, Safety Consultant, and Director for CYDI Youth-build from 2013 to 2023.
I have had the privilege of being an Electrical Instructor at Chicago Public Schools, including Fenger High School and Charter CYDI High School (Community Youth Development Institute). Currently, I proudly hold the position of Director of Education for Rethink Electric's R.E.A.P (Rethink Electric Apprenticeship Program), where I continue to shape the future of the construction industry.
I am passionate about empowering others and excited to contribute to the advancement of women in construction.
