As an Associate Vice President, he has worked to lead and develop emerging professionals through participation in the ACE mentorship program, CMAA Local Chapter Board, and 2018 IRTBA Emerging Leaders Program.  In 2018 he received the national leadership award from his firm, and in 2022, Sonny was recognized by ENR as a Top 20 Professional under 40.  His project leadership experience includes the following projects: Chicago DOT’s (CDOT) Wells Wentworth Connector Section 3, Wells Street CDOT/CTA Bascule Bridge rehabilitation, CDOT Albany Park stormwater diversion tunnel, Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) Red and Purple Line Modernization advance utilities relocation, the Metropolitan Transit Agency’s (MTA) New York 2nd Avenue subway tunnel in Manhattan, NY. Earlier, CDOT’s Wacker Drive reconstruction, CTA Block 37, and the CTA Blue and Red Line subway half-tie reconstructions.
