Mia Mendez is the Great Lakes Region Project Director for the USDOT Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) hosted at the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC). She has been with the IHCC just shy of two years and brings a strong marketing and client relations background. Mia provides technical assistance to small and minority owned businesses within the transportation industry. In her previous role, Mia managed the Illinois Tollway Technical Assistance Program where she assisted clients that were interested in working on Illinois Tollway construction and engineering projects. She is especially passionate about empowering women within the transportation industry and does this by hosting interns through the USDOT Women & Girls In Transportation Initiative (WITI) in her current role. WITI aims to increase the number of women in the transportation industry through annual events and its internship program.
