Margi Kaminski
As co-director of CannonDesign’s Health Interiors Practice, Margi supports market initiatives and strategy, focusing on business growth and client engagement. With over 30 years’ experience in practice, she has led a wide range of notable projects for many of the healthcare industry’s leading systems such as Kaiser Permanente, Northwestern Medicine and Penn State Health to name a few.
Margi brings the team fresh design perspectives and trends that are transforming the industry’s understanding of caring and wellness environments. Her work is characterized by a strong aesthetic sensibility tempered by a deep understanding of operational and functional concerns; Margi is a Certified Lean Green Belt. From public spaces to patient rooms, the use of natural light or the application of rapidly renewable materials, she works with the design team as well as end-users to create spaces that work, inspire and adapt.

She is a frequent speaker at leading healthcare industry conferences and has been the recipient of design awards from ASID, Contract Magazine and The Chicago Atheneum. In 2019, the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, awarded Margi their “Member of Distinction,” the chapter’s highest honor. She is actively involved in student career development and has participated in many events that support and mentor on a local and national level. In addition, Margi is on the National Board of Directors of the American Society of Interior Designers.
