Lindsay DeJonghe

Project EHS Manager, Turner Construction Company

I started my career with Turner Construction in 2013. I came with an environmental bachelor’s degree and emergency room experience, but no formal environmental, health and safety certifications. I acquired EHS knowledge and experience as I traveled throughout the central United States for my career. I have been on a variety of commercial and renovation construction projects including high-rises, data center, airports, hospitals, schools, jails, and much more. In 2020 I completed a master’s of engineering degree specializing in advanced safety engineering and management. Outside of EHS, I am a subject matter expert in claims management, document development and control, and training. I am an active participant in Mental Health/Suicide Prevention and Breast Cancer Awareness efforts hosted by our organization and within the local community. I am passionate about women in construction and have been a founding member in establishing three WIC groups within Turner Construction and on specific project sites. I am currently an active member of National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). I strive to be the voice for the employee that feels unheard and the voice that holds leadership accountable for providing the time and resources employees need to execute their work safely. Developing strong relationships is the foundation of everything I do, both professionally and personally.

Statement:

We are transforming the construction industry by demanding a safe and inclusive environment of diverse employees that feel comfortable speaking up to protect themselves and others.
