Golzar is a true Chicagoan; she grew up in the city's Northside within the Edgewater neighborhood. She attended the Illinois Institute of Technology where she received her Bachelors in Engineering Management. She is now attending the University of Illinois in Chicago part time working towards her Masters of Business Administration. Since graduating from Illinois Tech, Golzar has worked in the Chicago construction industry for a few general contractors and a glazing subcontractor. She now works as aAssistant Project Manager for Skender Construction in their Tenant Improvement / Interiors division. 

Statement:

The construction field can be a scary place for a young woman just starting in the industry. As I grow professionally, I hope to create an environment where my fellow woman colleagues no longer feel intimidated or a minority in the workplace / jobsite. We can band together to grow and show that we deserve seats at the table and have our voices heard.
