I am Faranak Foroughi and am studying for my second master’s degree in Architectural Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I started my Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. Through my education, I became interested in the sustainability and environmental effects of architecture. sustainability is a necessity, not a choice. Up to my major, reducing energy consumption and making buildings and cities sustainable are substantial. My passion for this field led me to pursue my education and study Energy and Architecture for the master's program. Besides studying, it’s been a year since I am the project manager for the Illinois build team at the Solar Decathlon Competition 2023. In this project, we are designing a zero-energy house that can only use solar energy to meet energy requirements.
