Ben Buehrle

Senior Associate, Lamar Johnson Collaborative

Ben is an award-winning architect and has been practicing in Chicago for over 10 years. Ben holds a BA in Business Communications from Calvin University and a Masters of Architecture from Louisiana State University. Ben’s experience spans Architecture, Interior Design, and Master Planning projects in the Civic, Education, Residential, Corporate Interiors and Healthcare markets. A few recent, notable projects include the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, Embry condo tower in Chicago and the Savanna Institute Education Center in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Ben is passionate about the city of Chicago, is a father of four young children, volunteers for the non-profit Defining Humanity, and is a member of the Uptown United Development Partners Committee.

Ben was drawn to architecture because of the optimism and hope that he sees in the process of design. He believes that in order to create communities for human and environmental flourishing, the process of design must pursue a sensitivity to context, integration of all systems, and foremost must be grounded in empathy.
