The more a team knows and understands each other, the more likely they are to trust each other and collaborate more effectively. As the Culture & Engagement Manger, I am charged with growing team cohesiveness through team-building activities, professional development programming, and community enrichment opportunities. Activities have included blood and food drives, river clean-ups, paintball, Engineers Week balloon car competitions, the annual company picnic, potlucks, affinity groups, and brown bag learning lunches. Because KDM deeply values community service, I also coordinate opportunities for giving back individually and as a team. In 2022, the team recorded 1,000 hours of volunteering in charitable activities. I am also tremendously proud to lead the Leadership Development Group, which grows our middle managers’ leadership capabilities through regular breakout sessions and workshops. I connect us personally so that we work more collaboratively and effectively as a team professionally.
