Chai is a Senior Computational Designer in HKS’s Chicago Studio, where he leverages computational design to enhance the design process, elevate design excellence, and deliver measurable value for clients and project teams. He develops innovative workflows that improve collaboration, accelerate decision-making, and integrate data-driven insights throughout the design process. By sharing computational design knowledge across sectors, Chai helps bridge technology and practice, enabling teams to tackle complex design challenges with greater creativity and efficiency.

Chai has led the design of large-scale commercial, mixed-use, and hospitality projects from concept development through project delivery, while also contributing to K–12 and healthcare projects. Combining a global perspective with cultural sensitivity, he transforms complex ideas into compelling design narratives and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, high-performance projects that balance aesthetic excellence, functionality, client goals, and community impact.
