Shon Harris

President, Chicago Building Congress

Shon Harris is the Owner & CEO of several construction businesses in the Chicagoland area, including LiveWire Electrical Systems, BlackRock Construction, and LiveWire Energy. He began his career over 25 years ago as an IBEW Local 134 apprentice, becoming a Journeyman Electrician in 2002 before launching LiveWire Electrical Systems in 2006—a certified MBE, DBE, and SBA 8(a) union contractor specializing in commercial and industrial electrical and low-voltage systems.

Driven to expand his impact across the industry, Shon established BlackRock Construction and LiveWire Energy to provide general contracting, concrete, and energy solutions. Today, his companies are recognized for their excellence and reliability across a wide range of infrastructure and development projects.

Shon is also the Founder of BCOE (Black Contractors, Owners, and Executives), an organization focused on advancing Black leadership and equity in the construction industry. A strong advocate for inclusion, his businesses maintain a workforce that is majority African American, Hispanic, and women—reflecting the communities they serve.

He currently serves as President of the Chicago Building Congress (2025–2027) and remains deeply committed to fostering opportunity, representation, and lasting impact in construction.
