Michael Bartkowski

I’ve been in the construction industry for 40 years; 10 years in Thermal Insulation and 30 plus years in Firestopping.

I spent 13 years with 3M as a distributor and then a Manufacturer’s Representative for 10 years.  I was partner in a Firestopping Contractor for 5 years prior to moving over to Specified Technologies for 10 years.  In that capacity I served as Territory Manager for Illinois and Wisconsin and then moved to a position as Health Care Manager for STI for Illinois and Wisconsin.

Moving over to Bartkowski Strategic Contracting I was involved with Sales, Estimating and Business Development.

On area which I championed was developing a Service Solution Program entitled Preconstruction Risk Assessment for Firestopping.  This focuses on addressing firestopping early in the Preconstruction Phase with the goal being to minimize Schedule Delays, Cost Overruns, Engineering Judgments and Code Compliance Citations.  Implementing a PCRA for Firestopping can remove many of the headaches associated with Life Safety and Barrier Management issues.
