Maureen Blossfeld, AIA
Maureen Blossfeld serves as the Associate Director, Health and Hospitals, in the Cook County Department of Capital Planning and Policy. In that role she leads staff and consultant teams in the delivery of approximately 113 design and construction projects, in the annual Capital Improvement Plan, across the 3.6 million GSF of the County’s Health and Hospitals portfolio, which includes a new health and mental health facility for the Cook County Jail, New Provident Clinical Triage and Stabilization Center, and a community-based Behavioral Health Out-Patient Center at the New Bronzeville Health Center. She is an Illinois Licensed Architect and holds LEED accreditation. She has served on the Board of the AIA Healthcare Knowledge Community of Chicago. Maureen has Bachelor of Science (in Architecture and Urban Planning) from the University of Michigan, and a Diploma (Master’s equivalency) from The Architectural Association, London England. In the past 30 years of healthcare experience, Maureen has managed an AEC Team on numerous Hospital projects and renovations, including an Ambulatory Treatment Center with an Inpatient Behavioral Health component in Upper Chesapeake Bay, Maryland.
