Jason brings a unique perspective to all projects with his diverse background in building science, architecture, engineering, real estate, and construction. He advises design teams on building science topics and provides analytical support to quantitatively inform decisions influencing project performance. While managing sustainability services at SCB he has certified more than 35 LEED projects ranging from high-rise multifamily, office, and campus student housing. He has conducted comprehensive energy modeling on over 7 million square feet of Chicago real estate spanning a wide range of project scale and type. The diversity of projects at SCB has allowed him to specialize in design-centric analysis in ASHRAE climate zones throughout the United States. Currently his focus is on the delivery of office and senior living projects in Chicago and Virginia.
Jason has a long history of academic achievement. He most recently received his Master of Science in Real Estate from DePaul University Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in 2018. Prior to this he attended Arizona State University from 2009 to 2012 earning a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science the Built Environment. As a scholarship offensive linemen, he received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a minor in Construction Management from Ball State University in 2008.
He currently serves as the Chair of AIA Chicago’s Committee On The Environment (COTE) knowledge community and occasionally presents at the local and national level.
