Deputy Director, Public Safety, Cook County

Eric Davis serves as the Deputy Director, Public Safety, in the Cook County Department of Capital Planning and Policy. In that role he leads staff and consultant teams in the delivery of approximately 300 design and construction projects, in the annual Capital Improvement Plan, across the 11 million GSF of the County’s public safety portfolio, which includes a new health and mental health facility for the Cook County Jail, a (Net Zero Ready) Enhanced Visitation Facility at the Jail, and a community-based alternative for the County’s juvenile justice system. He has been an Illinois Licensed Architect since 1989 and holds NCARB certification and LEED accreditation. He has served on the Board of Directors of both the Chicago and Illinois components of the American Institute of Architects, as well as on multiple national AIA committees. In Eric has Bachelor of Science (Architecture) from the University of Virginia, a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an Advanced Diploma in Research in the Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where he is also currently a Master’s student, at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
