Ann Kalayil

Associate Vice President of Facilities Planning and Management, Columbia College Chicago

Ann P. Kalayil is Associate Vice President of Facilities Planning and Management at Columbia College Chicago, where she led the development of a 10-year Campus Master Plan and Workplace Strategy Guidelines. Her work focuses on aligning space planning with evolving academic and operational needs.

Previously, Ann served as Bureau Chief of Asset Management for Cook County, where she launched a Green Buildings Program to reduce the County’s carbon footprint. In 2011, she was appointed by President Obama as Regional Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration’s Great Lakes Region where she was responsible for the 36M sf. real estate operations, fleet and $7B supply chain, and $2.5B revenues for the federal government in the six midwestern states. She led a Chicago based operation with over 900 employees, led

digital workplace initiatives and created public access to GSA’s national art collection via art.gsa.gov.

Ann serves as a Trustee for Northeastern Illinois University and Commissioner for the Illinois Medical District. She is a board member of the Center for Neighborhood Technology, Vice President of the Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership Training Academy, and co-founder of the South Asian American Policy and Research Institute. She is also a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow.
