A long-vacant lot just a few doors north of the 606 trail in Logan Square has been permitted for a two-unit building by the City of Chicago. 1811 North Whipple Street will be a two-story plus basement, two unit building, most likely condos based on the $720,000 reported cost. The permit application date is September 20, 2024, and it was issued on July 31 of this year.

Details for the new build include a rooftop deck with guard rail, a raised rear patio, and a sunken patio in front of the building. Three surface parking spaces will be provided on the dead-end alley at the rear of the lot access from Cortland Street to the north. Michael Cox and Associates is named as the architect of record, with Gold Millennium Construction Company designated as the general contractor.

1811 North Whipple lies directly across the street from Julia de Burgos Park, which serves as an access point to the 606.
