A 20-unit residential building has been permitted for construction at 2245 West Monroe Street on the city’s Near West Side. YIMBY first learned about the proposal back in May, and on September 25, the permit was issued for the four-story building following its August 4 application. The permit, addressed as 2243 West Monroe, cites a reported cost of $4.985 million.

The permit calls for a sprinklered elevator building with a basement and rooftop deck. Renderings show large inset balconies, and they will be included on all four levels. A detached six-car garage will be erected at the alley behind the residence, and it too will be topped by a roof deck. A 42-inch metal fence will enclose the property. These are expected to be rental apartments. Of the 20 dwelling units, four will be set aside as affordable.

Joudeh Investments, LLC of Bridgeview is named as the developer, with Hanna Architects handling design work. The general contractor is TBI Contractors Inc, also of Bridgeview. Go to Chicago YIMBY for full details!
