Foundation Work Continues for 3501 N Halsted in Lakeview East

Foundation construction can be seen taking shape at 3501 N Halsted Street in Lakeview East, set to give rise to a new five-story mixed-use building. The facility will be a new hub for Howard Brown Health, which provides an all-encompassing approach to LGBTQ wellbeing at various centers throughout Chicago. Programming will include 7,600 square feet of ground-level retail, two floors of clinic space on the first two floors, and three floors of administrative space above. With this project alone, Howard Brown Health will double the organization’s capacity within the area.

Designed by Eckenhoff Saunders Architects, the multifaceted exterior will feature a glass curtain wall combined with various shades of brickwork. The facade will be broken up by a series of vertical bays and a top floor setback, which will allow for added amenity terrace space.

The project is very public transit-oriented, with only 27 parking spots on site. Bus service for Route 8 is available directly next to the project site, while closest CTA Red Line access is a seven-minute walk to Addison Station.

McHugh Construction is serving as the general contractor for the edifice, with a full delivery of the project expected for 2023.
