Construction has begun on the full reconstruction of one of Chicago’s busiest and most historic transit hubs, marking the start of a $440 million transformation led by the Chicago Department of Transportation and the Chicago Transit Authority, with design by TranSystems and SOM.

First opened in 1895, State/Lake has long been a civic landmark at the heart of the Loop.
