)
As demolition continues, the new construction permit has been issued for the residential development at 925 West Belmont Avenue in Lake View. Using the address of 919 West Belmont, the permit has an application date of April 9 and was issued on August 5 with a reported cost of $8 million.
As previously reported, developer and general contractor Mavrek Development will erect a five-story, 46-unit residential building designed by Eckenhoff Saunders Architects upon completion of the demo work. The permit identifies 37 efficiencies and nine dwelling units for the floor plans, along with just six surface parking spaces and “associated site work.” An express permit for the stormwater management plan was issued on July 25.
Demolition contractor A. G. Coyle remains on site as the teardown approaches the home stretch. As of Wednesday August 6th most everything from the rear up to the storefront windows is gone, with work to be done on the west end of the site and in the deep foundations. Several pallets of bricks from the building have been palletized and were boing loaded onto a truck for hauling away. Visit Chicago Yimby to see more
