Chicago Fire FC breaks ground on $750M South Loop stadium

Chicago Fire FC officially broke ground today on its new $750 million privately funded soccer stadium in the South Loop, marking a major milestone for the Club and a transformative investment in the city’s sports and entertainment landscape.

“From the projects we’ve completed in the past to the work we begin today, the new Chicago Fire FC stadium truly takes an army,” project contractor Pepper Construction said on social media following the groundbreaking. “We want to recognize everyone who has contributed along the way, especially those who couldn’t be here but will play an important role in bringing this project to life.

“And we extend our sincere thanks to the trades whose skill and dedication will help shape the skyline of Chicago through this work. See you in 2028!”

Pepper Construction, GMA Construction Group and All Construction Group were selected to manage the build as a joint venture.
