)
A permit to build 18 residential units languishing in the Chicago Data Portal since September 2024 has now been issued by the City of Chicago. That permission was granted on October 8th for 4125 North Narragansett Avenue in Portage Park, and it comes through with a reported cost of $1.25 million. Developer Artur Drezek of Borter Z Inc filed the application on September 10, 2024.
The permit calls for a three-story building without a basement level, but including a rooftop deck. There will be no garage, but a driveway to the rear of the building will lead to 18 surface parking spaces. The 1917-built home on the site was sold in 2023 for $585,000 and a demolition permit was issued for it in January of this year. Lucid Engineering Services Group of Bloomingdale, IL is named as the architect of record, and Borter Z will be their own general contractor. It is expected these will be rental apartments.
