WORKSHOP: Building Risk Assessment for Informed Decision-Making

30 Oct 2025
Sustainability & HSE (Workshop 2) AIA CES Workshops
This interactive session, hosted by the Green Building Initiative (GBI), will introduce participants to practical methods for evaluating climate-related risks to buildings using recognized datasets and tools. Drawing on resources such as NOAA NESDIS 142 Series – Regional Climate Trends and Scenarios for the U.S. National Climate Assessment, NOAA Digital Coast, and the U.S. Climate Resilience Toolkit, attendees will learn how to translate climate projections into actionable building risk insights. While the concepts and tools are broadly applicable, the workshop will illustrate the process through a Chicago-based building case study, demonstrating how to apply these techniques to their own projects and portfolios.
